Archiving the Internet: How Historians Can Help #SaveTheWeb

Welcome to Pararchive

We are really pleased to be showcasing the development of our project to provide resources that we hope will have long-lasting and wide-reaching consequences for the way we exchange ideas, tell stories and communicate. The project is called Pararchive: Open Access Community Storytelling and the Digital Archive and is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

The first phase of the project started on 1st October 2013 and ran until 31st March 2015 when Yarn was launched at the Connecting Communities: Storytelling & the Digital Archive Conference & Community Showcase. The second phase is scheduled to start later in 2016. The project is based at the School of Media and Communication (SMC), University of Leeds, and is part of the AHRC’s Connected Communities theme. It was funded under the Digital Transformations in Community Research Co-Production in the Arts and Humanities. The project involves a range of community partners – all with their own areas here – and the Universities of Leeds and York, the Science Museum and the BBC.
